Established in 2019, the U.S. Space Force (USSF) is the newest branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and plays a critical role in securing America's interests in space. This includes safeguarding satellites, global communication networks, missile defense systems, and other space-based infrastructure that are vital to everything from GPS navigation and secure military communications to weather forecasting and financial transactions. Guardians, the highly skilled military and civilian personnel of the Space Force, are at the forefront of these efforts. Their mission is to ensure that the United States maintains a strategic advantage in space, ready to respond to evolving threats both on Earth and in orbit.
